Love the Lord your God, with all your heart, soul, and with all your mind. Matthew 22:37
The first thing I learned from my dog is passion. There is a difference between excitement and passion. Excitement wears off but passion keeps you steadfast. You continue to pursue. You are not found under a shade tree being lazy.

The second thing I learned from my dog is how he trusts me. He has learned that when I point somewhere that I am putting him on a rabbit. He trusts in me that I know what is best and is rewarded for that. Just like our relationship with God. We need to trust even though we might not understand.
The third thing I tried to teach my dog was discipline. An undisciplined dog can be draining. When my dog was a pup he would see the wide open field and off he went. By doing so he missed so much. I had to teach him to pattern the field so he did not miss any rabbits. The same thing with us.
God discipline those He loves by producing a fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12
A new believer runs into life full of excitement head first. We need to learn the importance of quiet time and prayer.
When you are in the outdoors remember that God wants to reveal Himself to you through creation.
