Psalm 63:8

“My soul follows hard after you, Your right hand upholds me.”

Psalm 63:8
Psalm 63:8

Several years ago, my friend Lee, my dog Ginger, and I were going through the thicket hunting snowshoe up north, and I got separated from them because I had to keep going around the heavy thicket. Further and further away I got. As we got to the dirt road, there was Lee and Ginger 100 yards away. When Ginger saw me, she came running to me in a full sprint.

As I bent down, she jumped on my lap to give me her famous kiss. As I was thinking about this, I thought she was in hot pursuit until she got to me. It made me think of a book I once read by Tommy Tenney called “God Chasers.”

That is my prayer for you and me, that we would become a God Chaser. That we would run after God and that we would run hard. That we would receive His fresh presence every day. Just like Ginger with me, that we would not be content to see God in a distance, but we would run to Him in hot pursuit.

And I pray that as a result of this, that God will use us to touch those spiritual dry areas in people’s lives, in church, in our family, at our work place, in the community or in our friendships.

Friends don’t stop perusing Him until you find Him. And those who seek Him with all their hearts will find Him
