“So Pilate, wanted to gratify the crowd, released Barabbas to them; and he delivered Jesus, after he scourged Him to be crucified.”
Mark 15:15

The last several days, I thought about Pontius Pilate a lot. He sort of reminded me of some of us. We know in the story that he knew Jesus was innocent. But it comes down to this. He wanted to release Jesus, but without a cost to him personally. He tried to wash his hands of it, but he was guilty. He crumbled under pressure, was worried about his job, went along with crowd even though it was wrong. Sound familiar? He tried to compromise and he ended up being blackmailed. He tried to wipe the blood from his hands, but the blood wouldn’t wash off. I believe that Pilate never hated Jesus, he just wanted to pacify everyone.
So friends there is no middle ground. So here is the question. What will you do with Jesus in the world you live in, in your family, in your church, etc… ? There is no putting off. You can’t keep neutral. Pilate tried and it bit him in the butt.
