Joel 1:3 & 2:28

“Tell your children about it, let your children tell your children, and their children to the next generation.”

Joel 1:3
Joel 1:3 & 2:28

Joel urged the elders of Judah to tell their descendants the story of what God did among them. It reminded me of what I heard a pastor say one day. . “The power of first mention. Who ever tells you first has the correct information.”

You would not believe how many arguments I had with my friends over my dad said, whether he was right or wrong. I bet you can think of your own stories.

Folks, it is important to share our testimonies to this generation. Good or bad. This helps prepare the next generation. It prepares them to walk wisely and it encourages them that God will also speak to them.

“And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour my spirit upon all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”

Joel 2:28

The apostle Paul even urged Timothy to pass on the things he heard from him. We need to take this opportunity to pass on these God moments with our children.

Have you shared your life story with your children? What has God done to bring you to where you are at today?

You have a legacy to pass on. Remember. THE POWER OF FIRST MENTION!
